The New Membership & Retention subcommittee is responsible for growing the Legends of Basketball membership base and keeping every member actively engaged — with measurable targets and systematic outreach.
Target 15% year-over-year growth in new member enrollment across all chapters, tracked quarterly against a baseline established at the start of each program year.
Achieve an 85% or higher annual membership renewal rate across all chapters. Renewal rates will be tracked per chapter and reported to the full committee quarterly.
Personally contact 100% of lapsed members within 60 days of their lapse date. Target 25% re-enrollment of lapsed members within the calendar year.
Track and report each quarter: new member count, renewal rate by chapter, and total outreach contacts made to lapsed members.
Identify and build relationships with recently retired NBA, ABA, WNBA, and Harlem Globetrotter alumni not yet in the Legends network, prioritizing outreach within the first three years post-retirement.
Enroll at least 50 net-new members across the entire Legends of Basketball organization per year, distributed across chapters based on their size and activity level.
