18-Year Harlem Globetrotter · Speaker · Author · Hall of Famer
Herbert "Flight Time" Lang grew up in Brinkley, Arkansas, where he was an All-State basketball player and senior class president. At Centenary College of Louisiana, he became a scoring champion and slam dunk artist before catching the eye of the Harlem Globetrotters in 1999.
Over 18 extraordinary years with the Globetrotters, "Flight Time" became one of the organization's most beloved personalities — a dazzling athlete whose high-flying skills were matched by a magnetic personality. He entertained audiences in nearly 90 countries and earned the privilege of meeting some of the world's most influential figures, including Pope Francis and President Barack Obama.
Since retiring from the Globetrotters in 2017, Herb has transformed his global platform into a thriving career as a keynote motivational speaker, actor, and best-selling author. His message — rooted in perseverance, joy, and human connection — resonates far beyond basketball courts. His induction into Centenary College's Alumni Hall of Fame in 2023 recognized a lifetime of achievement both on and off the court.
Herb Lang's speaking and consulting work draws on the lessons of entertaining millions across six continents. He is available for corporate keynotes, youth events, and special appearances through his website at iamherblang.com.
