Dave DeBusschere Scholarship Fund | Legends of Basketball

About the Fund

Established more than a decade ago in honor of the late Dave DeBusschere, this fund provides financial assistance to Legends of Basketball members and their families pursuing higher education. The fund has awarded more than $1.5 million in educational support to date.

Eligibility

Open to active Legends of Basketball members, their children, and their spouses
Grandchildren are no longer eligible
Dependent applicants require the member to have held active status for a minimum of two consecutive years
Members aged 70 or older with dependent applicants must maintain Gold Membership status ($250 dues)
Applicants must enroll full-time at an accredited institution — minimum 12 credit hours for undergraduates, 9 for graduate students
Children of deceased members have a two-year window to apply as first-time applicants
Previously awarded recipients of deceased members may continue receiving funds through degree completion if they maintain a 2.75+ GPA and full-time enrollment

Award

Maximum of two scholarships per member, regardless of dependent count.
